Baga Beach:
Counted amongst the most popular and lively beaches in Goa, Baga(Beach) is literally an extension of Calangute. Baga is smaller than the Calangute and Colva beaches lying on either side of it. It is favored by tourist who want to sun bathe in peace during by day and enjoy the Goan nightlife by night. However, Baga can be just as exciting for the more active tourist and offers a wide range of water sports from jet skis to parasailing. Baga is known to have the best range of restaurants and the liveliest nightlife in the area. While you are there don't miss the Saturday Flea market for all kinds of odds and ends, handicrafts, jewellery and snacks
Agonda
Beach:
The gorgeous ivory-coloured cove of Agonda is known as "the silent beach," so of course it’s a top spot for relaxing getaways! Surrounded by abundant vegetation, the molasses-paced village redefines the passage of time, which perfectly stretches out your hide-from-the-world getaway holiday. Hole up in an adorable beach hut and let your worries simply disappear.
Aguada
beach is almost synonymous with the top-notch Fort Aguada Hotel complex, a
superb hotel that is built on the cliff, around the remnants of the early 17th
century Portuguese fort. Although access to the beach is not possible through
the hotel grounds, which are private, you can walk along Aguada beach, for in
India private beaches do not exist.
Drawn by
the clientele of the hotel, Aguada beach has cafes, itinerant vendors of
everything from Kashmiri carpets to massages, and a good range of water sports

Anjuna Beach:
Anjuna is among the most
famous beaches in India. Popularly known for its Hippie culture, most people's
reasons for coming to Anjuna are the same as they were in the 1970s. On
Wednesdays, the famous flea market of Anjuna, a major shopping hangout beside
the beach, opens for business. Bathing is generally safer at Anjuna than at
most of the other beaches. Taking long walks and watching sunsets are among the
favorite pastimes of visitors at Anjuna. Anjuna has emerged as a destination
for rave parties and that take place over here from time to time, especially
around the Christmas-New Year full moon period.
Candolim Beach:
Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.
Calangute Beach:
Also
known as the ""Queen of Beaches"" , Calangute is is Goa's
flagship beach. It is also the most commercialized of all beaches in Goa. Due
to its extreme popularity, Calangute beach beckons tourists and backpackers
from all over the world and the beach remains choc-a-block with tourists all
year around. The beach is dotted with shacks and a lot of the clubs open up
onto the beach. There are lots of shows held on the beach including rock, pop
beat shows, open air dances, and fetes. Calangute offers all modern amenities
like a post office, banks, foreign exchange offices and medical facilities.
When in Calangute a must see is the Church of St. Alex, built in 1741.
Calangute
is the most popular beach with thousands thronging it in both the peak and
off-season. The waves rise high above as you wash away your city blues, though
swimmer need to be a trifle cautious because of the sudden drop and the rising
waves. Experienced swimmers will, however, revel in the seas here.. The beach
is fringed with popular restaurants and hotels, including the Calangute
Residency operated by GTDC. This long, seven-km sweep of sand located 15 kms
from Panaji, is called the 'Queen of Beaches'. All the travel agencies and tour
operators have a base here from where bookings are done for most of the other
beaches.
Parasailing

Years of tourism has brought in a tremendous change in the scenario. Hotels and guesthouses stretch uninterrupted from Calangute to Baga. The village of Calangute has all basic facilities like post office, banks, foreign exchange offices, resort companies, all kind of bars and restaurants, besides medical facilities. The number of internet cafes in Calangute might even exceed that of the entire city of Panaji.
